Online Formatting Guides

Three online guides for the proper formatting of references, the in-text citation and the general formatting of a paper, including cover page, page numbers, headers, etc., can be found at

or at

The more detailed of the two is the material prepared by Hacker in the first site given. In addition to having the details for each of the four main styles, she has sample papers to help guide writers/students in each style. It is, on the whole, a very thorough and well-done web site.
